About the Cemetery Road Corridor Study

Galveston County, including the cities of Santa Fe, League City and Dickinson, is experiencing an increase in population and employment, which is creating an increase in traffic along major roadways.

Located in multiple jurisdictions and extending 3.76 miles, Cemetery Road is an integral north-south corridor that not only provides local but also regional connectivity. This corridor will need to be studied for both existing and future development, as well as environmental and utility constraints, to provide efficient mobility in the area.

The Cemetery Road Corridor Study will examine the existing conditions of the study area and identify quick-win (0-2 years), short- (0-4 years), medium- (5-10 years) and long-term (10+ years) needs. The study will also develop actionable solutions to improve multimodal traffic along this corridor that reflect local and regional needs of the community.

Stay tuned as we gather input from stakeholders and engage with the community to shape the future of this vital corridor.
