FAQ
What is the Congestion Management Plan (CMP)?
The CMP provides a systematic approach to identify congestion management objectives, measure transportation system performance and monitor conditions to better understand the extent and causes of congestion across the region.
Why is this plan being developed?
The CMP is required by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for urbanized areas with populations exceeding 200,000 to help guide how transportation investments are prioritized to reduce congestion and improve mobility across the region.
How will this plan impact me?
The CMP helps identify strategies that can improve travel times, reliability and access to destinations. While it does not directly implement projects, it helps guide future transportation decisions that may affect your daily travel.
How can I participate?
You can attend a public meeting, take the online survey and use the online engagement tools on this page.
How will my input be used?
Public input will help the study team understand current travel patterns, congestion challenges and travel time reliability. That feedback will be used to inform the development of congestion management strategies.
