We need your input to help guide the update of our 2045 Regional Transportation Plan!

The 2045 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Update for the Houston-Galveston area will build on previous planning efforts to set investment priorities for the multimodal transportation system that connects people to places where they live, work, play, and efficiently moves goods from, to, and through the region.

Updated every four years in coordination with the state, transit providers, local public agencies, freight interests, public and private community organizations, the RTP will:

  • Assess demographic trends and transportation demand
  • Forecast future demand for regional mobility
  • Estimate available funding
  • Track progress towards system performance targets

Help us connect the dots and make getting around the region safer and better for generations to come.

2045 RTP Update Comment Map

We need your help in identifying places in the Houston-Galveston region that you believe are unsafe, congested, missing facilities or services, or could otherwise be improved.

HOW TO LEAVE A COMMENT

  1. Click on the map or the 'go to map' button
  2. Zoom in to the section of the map where you want to leave a comment
  3. Select "+" to add the appropriate pin and drag it onto the map
  4. Describe the issue
  5. If possible, upload a photo of the issue. 

Example: If you want to point out an issue with an intersection, grab a pin and drag it and drop it on the map. Then let us know why you dropped that pin by providing a comment. If possible, upload a photo.

PIN CATEGORIES

  • Safety: Tell us where there are dangerous sightlines, poor lighting, missing signage, or pavement markings
  • Congestion and Delay: Tell us where there is heavy traffic, long waits at intersections, or vehicles blocking traffic (because they're stuck in intersections or are trying to turn)
  • Access and Connectivity: Tell us where there are gaps in the roadway network or where alternate routes should be provided
  • Walking, Biking, and Transit: Tell us where there are broken or missing sidewalks, where crosswalks are needed, where bike paths should be, or where better bus service is needed
  • Anything Else: Tell us anything we've missed, such as poor drainage or pavement condition
